Lightweight Multidimensional Adaptive Stylized Shadow Generation Based on Directional Edge Detection
In this paper, we propose an adaptive method based on directional edge detection to generate stylized shadows for line drawings. Highly controllable real-time shadow rendering is achieved by fusing edge detection, geometric transformation and Gaussian blurring techniques. First, the image edges are extracted using Canny edge detection algorithm. Shadow displacements are then computed in conjunction with polar projection, and Gaussian convolution is used to simulate light diffusion effects. The final stylized shadow effect is synthesized through a linear blending model. We also created an interactive interface that includes a control panel area and an image preview area. A number of parameter sliders are set up in the control panel area to adjust parameters related to edge threshold, shadow angle, shadow offset, shadow blurring and shadow intensity to generate stylized shadows for line drawing images in real time.
