Aggregation Modelling of Grid-Forming Renewable Power Plant for Real-Time Simulation of Power Grid
Renewable power plant based on the grid-forming converter has the function of actively supporting the grid frequency and voltage, and in order to correctly assess the impact of large-scale grid-forming renewable power integration on the security and stability characteristics of the grid, it is necessary to accurately model and simulate the grid-forming renewable power plant based on the research. In this paper, we propose a two-machine aggregation modeling method for grid-forming renewable power plant that multiplies the control signals of the primary circuit of the inverters, which solves the problem that the single-machine multiplication method may lead to a large oscillation of the output current due to the large multiplication coefficients in the real-time simulation environment. Based on the simulation modeling analysis of real grid cases, the proposed aggregation modeling method can accurately reflect the dynamic process of grid-forming renewable power plant interacting with the grid, and significantly improve the simulation rate.
