A Self-Powered Voltage Doubling S-SSHI Circuit for Piezoelectric Energy Harvesting

To address the challenges of low energy harvesting efficiency and complex switch control structures in existing circuits, this paper proposes a self-powered voltage-doubling S-SSHI circuit. First, the topology of the proposed circuit is described, which features a peak detection module and voltage doubling capability to enable self-powered operation, eliminating the need for a rectifier bridge. Subsequently, the operational mechanisms of the circuit are detailed. Finally, simulation analyses are conducted to validate the circuit's effectiveness. The results demonstrate that, under low load impedance and low load voltage conditions, the proposed circuit significantly outperforms conventional full-wave rectifier circuits, achieving a peak output power 4.32 times that of standard energy harvesting circuits.
