A Flexible Stretching Sensor Based on Tunable Resistance of CNT-PDMS Composite

In this paper, we developed a flexible composite material of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) mixture at different concentration ratios, which was cured into a columnar material with certain conduct pumping and drying operation This material has strong mechanical property and excellent elasticity. Resistance of the material changes under a deformation at a high sensitivity. A qualitative assessments of material samples with different CNT content, including the tension test, stress test for the resistance changes were carried out. The electrical resistance of the material, characteristics of capacitor were measured during the testing. Finally the material was optimized with excellent mechanical properties and electrical properties. This work provides a guidance for the subsequent selection of flexible electronic materials.
