Quantitative Analysis of Factors Affecting Transient Overvoltage of Wind Turbines
With the continuous increase in the proportion of new energy in the power system, the grid strength in wind power integration areas is relatively weak. The transient overvoltage after an AC short-circuit fault can trigger cascading faults, and in severe cases, it may lead to the disconnection of wind turbines from the grid. Existing literatures have conducted detailed analyses on the generation mechanism and suppression measures of transient overvoltage. However, few literatures have carried out a quantitative analysis of the impact of the internal control system of wind turbines on transient overvoltage. Based on the grid-connected model of the Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) and combined with the MATLAB/Simulink simulation model, this paper uses a mathematical analytical method to derive the analytical expressions of the transient overvoltage with respect to the control parameters, so as to solve for the maximum value of the transient overvoltage. The correctness of the conclusions is verified through MATLAB/Simulink simulations.
