Optimisation of PV PEM Power for Hydrogen Production based on Multi-Strategy Cuckoo Algorithm
To address the detrimental effects of recurring photovoltaic (PV) output fluctuations, which are influenced by environmental conditions, on the efficiency of electrolyzers and the hydrogen yield in a PV-PEM hydrogen production system, a model that incorporates actual fluctuation scenarios has been developed. Furthermore, an in-depth analysis of the relationship between the electrolyzer's electrolysis efficiency, its power input, and hydrogen production is conducted. A power optimization strategy for PV hydrogen production system based on the multi-strategy improved cuckoo algorithm is proposed. This approach successfully enhances the algorithm's responsiveness and tracking precision in dealing with operational disturbances of the PV hydrogen production system, achieved by augmenting population diversity, incorporating adaptive control elements, and employing a Gaussian perturbation tactic. Results from the simulation experiments indicate that the electrolysis efficiency is enhanced by 2.01%, 1.53%, and 5.11%, and the monthly hydrogen output of the system is increased by 24.42%, 9.56%, and 100.71% when compared to the strategies of CS, P&Q, and no-power optimization, respectively.
