Design and Implementation of SPICE Model for Circuit Simulation of Cold-Cathode Trigger Tubes
A spark-gap switch possesses unique characteristics that cannot be replaced by other devices. It has a multitude of applications and primarily protects high-voltage equipment and components by serving as a high-voltage pulse switch in various high-voltage pulse generators and aviation engine ignition systems. However, a complete and simple Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis (SPICE) model for this device is not yet available. This study proposes a cold-cathode trigger tube SPICE model. Under set parameters, the self-breakdown voltage is 15.51 kV, minimum trigger voltage is 3.00 kV, working voltage range is 7.03-10.00 kV, and the operational current is less than 7.14 kA. All characteristic parameters fulfill the detailed specifications of the RQ-10 cold-cathode trigger tube. Model parameters can be modified to satisfy the needs of different scenarios.
