VOGraph: Visual Odometry Fusion with Optical Flow and Real-Time Adaptability
It discusses an integrated framework for feature detection, description, and matching coupled with advanced optical flow techniques used in the estimation of motion in dynamic environments. The proposed methodology starts with feature detection algorithms such as LK Shi-Tomasi and LK FAST, used to make sure that the key points are strongly identified across different conditions of images. In order to characterize those features, a number of descriptors adopted comprises SHI_TOMASI_ORB, FAST_ORB, ORB, BRISK, AKAZE, FAST_FREAK, SIFT, ROOT_SIFT, SURF, SUPERPOINT, and FAST_TFEAT, which makes the feature data presentable and computationally manageable. Feature matching is obtained with the help of Brute Force (BF) and Nearest Neighbors combined with the Fast Library for Approximate Nearest Neighbors, FLANN, to get accurate matches between the extracted features. All movements are estimated using techniques based on the optical flow, which calculates motion fields using the Optical Flow Constraint Equation, the Lucas-Kanade (LK), and also a coarse-to-fine flow estimation approach. Afterwards, optical flow demonstrates its feasibility in dynamic scene analysis and object tracking. The framework is tested with the KITTI dataset and live camera feeds, revealing its validity in real-time applications like autonomous navigation, scene understanding, and motion analysis. It tends to underline feature engineering and motion estimation as cornerstones of computer vision systems.
