Renewable Energy-Powered Ventilator System: Arduino-Based Monitoring and Control with Solar Backup for Respiratory Support
Ventilators have become essential tools for severe COVID-19 patients, providing vital breathing support and oxygenation, so assisting in their recuperation. The increase in demand for ventilators has led to extensive manufacturing and repurposing initiatives to address the urgent need of very ill patients. Simultaneously, Bangladesh has adopted renewable energy as a fundamental element of its energy plan, acknowledging its diverse advantages such as enhancing energy stability, mitigating environmental deterioration, promoting economic development, and extending electricity availability in rural regions. The adoption of renewable sources, including solar power, not only broadens the range of energy sources but also strengthens the ability of healthcare infrastructure to withstand challenges, especially in areas without access to electricity or with limited access. The development of a ventilator system utilizing photovoltaic solar energy is an innovative effort to guarantee a consistent and environmentally friendly power source for essential respiratory therapy. This system utilizes Arduino-based technology to combine real-time monitoring of important indicators, including pressure and oxygen levels. As a result, healthcare practitioners are equipped with actionable information to efficiently manage respiratory problems. The inherent flexibility and scalability of Arduino technology boost the adaptability and modification of the ventilation system, making it a cost-effective and adaptable solution for respiratory assistance. Essentially, the combination of renewable energy and modern technology marks the beginning of a new age in respiratory care. This brings about a significant change towards sustainable and cost-effective solutions for important healthcare requirements.
