Strategic Pricing in Global Smartphone Ecosystem-Game Theoretic Insights for Digital Platform Services Supply Chain
The study examines pricing strategies of iOS and Android within the global smartphone ecosystem by using a Prisoner's Dilemma Model. It incorporates global market share trends and application store revenues to calculate the pay-off for the game model. The model evaluates average revenue per device under each strategic interaction to analyze the impact of such pricing on digital platform services supply chain. It also incorporates comparative static analysis; supervised learning-based simulation and regression forecasts; K-Means Clustering to scrutinize robustness and real-world applicability of the research. The findings highlight the importance of co-operative strategies among the players to maintain a stable smartphone ecosystem globally. Thus, this research tries to provide insights for businesses, investors and academicians on improving supply chain resilience while promoting market growth for the digital platform services.
