Dual-Band Metamaterial Absorbers for C and X Band Applications to Optimize eMBB in the 5G n79 Band at 5 GHz

This study focuses on designing and implementing a dual-band metamaterial absorber (MMA) engineered explicitly for C and X bands applications. The main goal is to improve the performance of enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) in the 5G n79 band, targeting a resonant frequency of 5 GHz. Additionally, it aims at remote sensing of soil salinity in the 5.3 GHz C-band. The MMA demonstrates effective absorption characteristics with high absorption rates of 97.49% at 5.016 GHz, 95.88% at 5.304 GHz, 91.70% at 7.544 GHz, 99.92% at 8.32 GHz, and 97.14% at 10.92 GHz within the bandwidth of 86 MHz, ranging from 4.972 GHz to 5.058 GHz, making it suitable for applications in the 5G n79 band. By integrating this dual-band absorber, we explore its potential to enhance signal quality and reduce interference in eMBB scenarios, thereby improving overall network efficiency. Furthermore, the MMA exhibits additional resonant frequencies at 5.304 GHz (62 MHz), 7.544 GHz (47 MHz), 8.32 GHz (143 MHz), and 10.92 GHz (136 MHz). These frequencies expand the potential applications of the MMA across various communication systems, including IoT connectivity and radar technologies, highlighting its versatility in modern wireless communication environments.
