Composite Radar Waveform Processing Method Via De-Chirping and Delay Phase Cancellation

Conventional radars face challenges such as limited anti-jamming ability and increased hardware complexity due to the need for high sampling rates required for signals with a high time-bandwidth. To address these issues, this article presents a novel designed radar signal structure that integrates noise frequency modulation (NFM) signal with linear frequency modulation (LFM), significantly increasing the complexity and improving its resistance to interference. Additionally, an advanced radar echo processing approach predicated on de-chirping and delay-phase cancellation (DC-DPC) is proposed. By leveraging locally generated LFM signals for de-chirping, the method transforms received echoes into narrowband difference frequency noise. Meanwhile, delay-phase cancellation utilizes the NFM component to extract target delay information while effectively lowering the A/D sampling rate. The proposed DC-DPC method can be validated through a combination of simulation results and experimental testing, confirming its feasibility and performance.
