A Polarization Reconfigurable Antenna Based on Dual SIW Cavity

In this paper, a polarization reconfigurable antenna based on dual SIW cavity in a total size of 33 ×33 × 1.1 mm3 is introduced. This antenna with a center frequency of 5.7GHz is designed by using a dual-port feed to make the polarization of the antenna adjustable. By changing the excitation phase of the two orthogonal feeding ports, the substrate integrated waveguide antenna can realize linear polarization and circular polarization, and the isolation between the two ports is greater than 15dB. When the antenna works in linear polarization, its maximum gain is 7.28dBi. When the antenna operates in circular polarization, its maximum gain is 7.23dBi, with a good radiation pattern in both states.
