Wind Power Prediction Based on Chaotic Time Series Analysis

According to the analysis based on short term load forecasting, the author analyze wind power data, knowing that meteorological factor is the greatest impact on wind power. This article refers to the knowledge of chaos, wind power has the random and irregular trajectory, the meanwhile, chaos is very sensitive to initial conditions of periodic motion. Applying MATLAB toolbox of time series to analyze wind power, we achieve the changing trends and relationship between wind speed and wind power. Drawing support of SPSS software for wind power spectral analysis, data from the DT70 meters tower, we get wind power spectral density, wind speed, area spectrum, phase spectrum, gain, cospectrum density, coherence and cross-piece. We know that the disorder, intermittent and random characters result in challenging prediction of wind power. We obtain in this study that wind power and wind speed shows very close correlation between their obviously similar trends.
