Non-Invasive Glucose Detection via Dual Sensitivity Modified CSRR Sensor Around 2.4 GHz

This paper introduces a non-invasive dual-sensitivity glucose sensor designed using a microstrip transmission line integrated with a modified complementary split ring resonator (CSRR). The sensor is optimized to enhance sensitivity while maintaining an operating frequency of approximately 2.4 GHz, making it suitable for integration into future IoT applications. The study examines the impact of resonator placement on sensor performance, utilizing a cost-effective FR-4 substrate. The proposed sensor’s effectiveness is assessed by analyzing the frequency and phase shifts in the transmission coefficient (S<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">21</inf>) of glucose solutions compared to pure water, demonstrating its capability to detect subtle changes in glucose concentration. These findings aim to facilitate the development of affordable, reliable, and non-invasive sensors, improving patient comfort and minimizing the risk of infection.
