Design and Analysis of 180nm Low Noise Amplifier for 2.4GHz Communication Technology
The LNA is a critical component of the RF front-end circuit, which amplifies weak signals received by the antenna and provides a low-noise signal to the subsequent stages. This paper presents the design and analysis of a low-noise amplifier (LNA) for 2.4 GHz communication systems in TSMC 180nm technology. The common source cascode and common source folded cascode topologies are used to optimize the LNA design for high performance and low power consumption. We discuss the basic design considerations for an LNA, including the noise figure, gain, scattering parameters, and stability, with a systematic optimization. The proposed LNA achieves a gain of 19.83 dB, a noise figure of < 2 dB, and a return loss of -10.192 dB, which meets the requirements for 2.4-GHz communication systems. The designed LNA provides an excellent solution for high-performance, low-noise amplification and can be used in wireless communication systems with stringent requirements for noise, gain, and power consumption.
