A Three-Axis Force Sensor for Stress Monitoring of Foundation Buildings

The stress detection of internal blocks in large buildings is very important for the stability and safety of the whole structure. However, the force sensors used in the current measurement systems can only detect the gravity of blocks in Z direction, while the force sensors that can simultaneously measure the interaction forces between blocks in X and Y directions have rarely been reported, which will lead to incomplete measurement data. In this paper, a large-range three-axis force sensor is studied. An elastic body suitable for three-axis force measurement is designed. Resistive strain gauges are pasted on different locations of the elastic body according to different rules. Therefore, the gravity of blocks and the horizontal extrusion force between blocks can be measured simultaneously. Furthermore, the influence of the coupling between the forces in X, Y and Z directions is also analyzed, and the effect of coupling is eliminated by using decoupling matrix. The experimental results show that this sensor has a range of 50 kN in Z direction, 25 kN in X direction and 25 kN in Y direction, and a comprehensive accuracy of 2% F. S. It can be used to detect the force between internal blocks of large buildings.
