A Framework Towards Circular Economy Implementation: An Organizational Learning Approach

Circular economy implementation is vital for sustainable development, while organizational learning is crucial for the improvement of firm performance. Although some studies attempted to illustrate the antecedents of circular economy, the studies that scrutinized the influences of organizational learning on a firm’s circular economy implementation remain scant. The goal of this research is to develop a framework that identifies the relationships between organizational learning and circular economy implementation. After a thorough literature review, this study proposes a framework that suggests organizational learning as the antecedents of circular economy implementation by a firm, and thus contributes to the sustainability literature. The framework could assist the industry practitioners and policymakers to ascertain the organizational learning that are significant for the transition towards a circular economy, thereby facilitating the achievement of sustainable development and a green economy.
