Safety Vehicle Warning System Using the Internet of Things
The intended smart solution for incentive-based management of accidents in this paper is an IoT based accident alert system for issuing instantaneous alerts in case of an accident that occurs while the driver is in the car. Components of the system architecture are development of the ADXL accelerometer sensor to detect collisions by observing changes of velocity or impact forces. Whenever an accident is detected, the system sounds a beep which is accompanied with latitude and longitude coordinates obtained from the NEO-6M GPS module for easy and quick identification of the location of the accident. The alert is through texting and calling the selected numbers, through the GSM system so even where the internet might be a problem the message gets through. Accident data is also preserved safely in the Adafruit cloud service where it can be accessed instantly by the authorities, or the insurance company, for inquiry, analysis, or for police perks during investigations. It confirms connectivity of IoT components such as sensors, GPS and the cloud to produce an effective and efficient automated solution to implement the needed road safety requirements. Not only does this make medical help available faster, it also feeds real time information back to the authorities to make their decisions faster. But this can help to reduce the potential magnitude of traffic incidents and increase the level of road safety.
