Numerical Analysis of CH3NH3SnI3-based Perovskite Solar Cell for three HTLs

Perovskite solar cell (PSC) has received superb research consideration owing to their unique photon absorption capability, low-cost fabrication, and elevated efficiency. In this study, a comparison among three-hole transporting layers (HTLs)-spiro-OMeTAD, P3HT and PEDOT:PSS with a common absorber layer, CH<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf>NH<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf>SnI<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf> has been demonstrated. The synthesized perovskite structure was also optimized for core perovskite layer thickness, acceptor density, and defects in absorber. Finally, as prepared structure was evaluated exploiting solar cell parameters like conversion efficiency (CE), open-circuit voltage (VOC), short-circuit current density (JSC), and fill factor (FF). Perovskite structure with P3HT as HTL exhibits maximum efficiency of 34.8% under standard testing conditions. The material used and band alignment are thought to facilitate charge transport resulting in higher efficiency.

Abstract

Perovskite solar cell (PSC) has received superb research consideration owing to their unique photon absorption capability, low-cost fabrication, and elevated efficiency. In this study, a comparison among three-hole transporting layers (HTLs)-spiro-OMeTAD, P3HT and PEDOT:PSS with a common absorber layer, CH<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf>NH<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf>SnI<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf> has been demonstrated. The synthesized perovskite structure was also optimized for core perovskite layer thickness, acceptor density, and defects in absorber. Finally, as prepared structure was evaluated exploiting solar cell parameters like conversion efficiency (CE), open-circuit voltage (VOC), short-circuit current density (JSC), and fill factor (FF). Perovskite structure with P3HT as HTL exhibits maximum efficiency of 34.8% under standard testing conditions. The material used and band alignment are thought to facilitate charge transport resulting in higher efficiency.
