Optimization of Highly Sensitive T-cell Photoacoustic Resonator for Noninvasive Blood Glucose Detection
In recent years, Photoacoustic Spectroscopy (PAS) has emerged as a powerful technique in various fields, particularly in medical diagnostics and biomedical applications. This method combines both optics and acoustics to measure the light absorption properties of materials. This paper discusses the design and performance comparison of a photoacoustic resonator (PAR) that enhances signals utilized in PAS, specifically for sensing glucose non-invasively. We designed and optimized a T-shaped PAR to improve its performance by analyzing the pressure versus frequency spectrum and observing the Q-factor. Through a step-by-step analysis, we identified the radius of both the resonance cylinder and the cavity cylinder as crucial parameters for significantly amplifying the generated ultrasonic sound signal. From our simulation data, we observed that after a certain change in the radius of the resonance cylinder, the amplitude of the pressure wave increased to approximately 7.22 times from the initial amplitude at a resonant frequency of 16.5 kHz. This analysis aims to serve as a foundation for further optimization of the resonator's performance, ultimately enhancing the detection sensitivity of non-invasive glucose monitoring devices.
