Comprehensive Optimization for China's Power System Planning with High Proportion of Renewable Energy
This study combines power sources, power grids and energy storage infrastructure to construct a new high-resolution long-term planning model for power system, in order to research the layout and configuration of future power systems. The results show that China's power generation structure has significant provincial differences, and renewable energy will become the main source of electricity. The transmission capacity will increase by 210.68% and the energy storage capacity will increase by 140.82% in the next 20 years. Our research results also provide valuable reference suggestions for energy planners.
