Upstream Supply Chain Visibility Measurement: A Case Study In Garment Industry
Supply chain visibility has garnered significant attention due to its numerous advantages. Enhanced supply chain visibility contributes to better business performance and fortifies supply chain resilience in the face of pandemics and environmental challenges. Despite its importance, limited research focuses on formulating quantitative models for measuring and enhancing visibility throughout the supply chain, particularly in industries like textiles, which are known for their susceptibility to vulnerabilities stemming from low visibility. This study presents a quantitative model leveraging the Supply Chain Visibility quantification framework, representing an innovative integration of conventional process capability and Six Sigma methodologies with modern concepts. Additionally, this research incorporates audit scores from the focal company to visualize supplier performance. The efficacy of the model is demonstrated through the utilization of practical data from the textile industry in Vietnam. As a result, the framework provides valuable insights and mechanisms for improving visibility within the upstream supply chain.
