A Multi-modal System using Eye Blink detection and OTP Generation for User Authentication
Conventional CAPTCHA systems are becoming susceptible to advanced automated bots; hence, their effectiveness towards securing online platforms is lost, but the user experience becomes compromised. To address this challenge, in this research a robust multi-modal CAPTCHA system that incorporates face recognition, blink detection, and OTP verification. The face recognition module is the first authenticating layer in which the facial features are captured using a webcam in real-time then it is moved to the next authenticating layer blink detection, where biometric data are used to confirm human interaction through involuntary eye movements like blinking. Then it moves on to the final layer which is a one-time password where after the confirmation of eye-blinking the OTP is sent to the registered user device so that authentication can only be completed by a legitimate user. This proposed multi-modal captcha system shows higher accuracy than other state-of-art methods.
