Collision Prevention Technology in IoT Integrated Smart Bike Helmet

Helmet Wearing Detection: The first feature is ensuring the rider puts on the helmet before commencing the vehicle. The helmet comes equipped with sensors that detect the proper position on the head of the rider. If the helmet is not being used or on the wrong spot, the vehicle will not start, preventing the accident caused by riding without a helmet. Emergency Key: The emergency key is integrated in the bike's system. The emergency key can also be utilized for initiating an emergency signal if and when needed, and this will make the system react quickly whenever there are emergencies. Injury Detection and Location Tracking: In event of injury of the rider and failure to use manual sending of an emergency message, the system detects the injury automatically and forwards the rider's location to an already identified emergency contact. This function is significant in case the rider is disabled or unconscious, as it ensures that assistance reaches the person in time. Advanced Sensors for Accurate Injury Detection: This feature is crucial when the rider is unconscious or disabled since it provides that assistance to the person in time. Advanced Sensors for Accurate Injury Detection: The helmet incorporates acceleration and vibration sensors, which monitor impacts and abnormal motion that could signal a crash or severe injury. The sensors, coupled with the sensor reading from the bicycle, give the rider's state of being very accurate readings. All of these sensors combined enable the system to sense even slight signs of trauma, including jerky impacts and sudden impacts. This is a more effective way of gauging injury than relying solely on the helmet. When an accident happens, the system sends an alarm with the rider's exact location to the stored emergency contact number in the system. With the integration of these safety features, the smart helmet aims to reduce the risk of damage, offer timely assistance, and ultimately save lives. This technology offers an additional layer of protection through automatic notifications, improved response times, and greater safety for riders.
