Assessing the Viability and Economic Impact of Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Systems Across Diverse Locations in Bangladesh
This paper evaluates photovoltaic system performance across Bangladesh, analyzing economic viability and solar power potential. Monocrystalline solar cells were assessed using fixed orientation and dual-axis tracking to determine the optimal setup for grid-connected systems. The study confirms dual-axis tracking as the most effective orientation for maximizing electricity generation. Total electricity generation for all over the year shows between 2209.5MWh and 2007 MWh for fixed orientation depending upon the various area. By contrast, overall electricity generation for the dual-axis tracking system was between 2827.8 MWh and 2484.6843 MWh. The data has been simulated by RETScreen for all constituent locations.Net present value (NPV), electricity export revenue, IRR, and simple payback are also explored with RETScreen software. The study indicates that the project can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by an average of 39,839 tons over 25 years.
