DIFERENÇAS GERACIONAIS NA COMUNICAÇÃO NO AMBIENTE DE TRABALHO: COMO AS GERAÇÕES SE COMUNICAM E COMO ISSO AFETA A PRODUTIVIDADE

ABSTRACT The workplace is a place where there may be several “representatives” of different generations. Each generation — Baby Boomers, X, Y and Z — has different behaviors, expectations and communication styles, which requires leaders to act more strategically and empathetically. Corporate communication, in this context, becomes a key element in promoting integration, cooperation and efficiency among employees. The main objective of the article is to understand how these different generations interact in the workplace and how this can affect productivity. The specific objectives include: Identifying the main communication characteristics of each generation present in the corporate environment, developing a framework identifying each generation and its characteristics, proposing strategies that facilitate intergenerational communication, and promoting a more collaborative work environment. It also seeks to answer the following questions: What are the main differences between generations and how do they communicate in the workplace? What are the differences in communication and how can they affect productivity? And what strategies can be implemented to reduce generational conflicts and improve communication in the workplace? The research is characterized as documentary and bibliographical, using a qualitative approach to analyze and interpret data from 2010 onwards. The article presents strategies for improving communication and mitigating conflicts within the workplace. Thus, the article sought to answer the initial questions as planned, seeking bases in relevant publications that could contribute to the discussion on generations and their impacts on productivity and communication problems. We always seek to demonstrate an understanding of generations, creating strategies that can be applied to the corporate environment in a simple and direct way. Keywords: Intergenerational. Communication. workplace.
