Integrating wound care in vascular practice

ABSTRACT
Ambulatory wound care centers have emerged as critical components of the healthcare system, providing specialized treatment for patients with chronic and complex wounds, particularly those affecting the lower extremities. This article aims to provide vascular surgeons with an understanding of the workflow processes, potential revenue and cost implications, and key considerations involved in incorporating wound care into a vascular practice. This addition allows vascular surgeons to provide more comprehensive and effective treatment for patients with lower extremity conditions. Vascular surgeons should consider adding wound care services to optimize patient care and expand their clinical offerings.
