First Contribution to the Taxonomy of the Genus Macroteleia Westwood, 1835 (Hymenoptera: Scelionidae) in the Arabian Peninsula and Jordan, with the Description of Two New Species

The genus Macroteleia Westwood, 1835 (Hymenoptera: Scelionidae) is reported for the first time in the Arabian Peninsula (Saudi Arabia) and Jordan. Four species are recognized based on 34 examined specimens collected from Al-Baha, Al-Jouf, Asir and Jazan regions (Saudi Arabia) and north of Dead Sea on the eastern coast (Jordan): Macroteleia rufa Szelényi, M. stabilis Nixon, M. arabica Gadallah and Soliman sp. nov., M. nigriceps Soliman and Gadallah sp. nov. The last two are described and illustrated as new species. An illustrated key and a distribution map of species are provided. A faunistic list and taxonomic notes are also provided for each species.
