Perilaku Ibu Generasi Z Dalam Pola Asuh Bayi di Klinik Fatimah Ali I Marindal I Kecamatan Patumbak Kabupaten Deli Serdang

ABSTRACT Infancy is a crucial period in a child’s development that requires optimal parenting, especially from mothers. This study aims to describe the parenting behavior of Generation Z mothers and identify the factors influencing their parenting styles. Using a descriptive quantitative method, the research was conducted at Klinik Fatimah Ali I, Kecamatan Patumbak, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, with a sample of 50 Generation Z mothers with infants aged 0–12 months. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings indicate that most Generation Z mothers have a high level ofeducation (D3/S1) and areactivesocial mediausers. About 83.2 % of the respondents practiced good parenting, including exclusive breast feeding, active interaction with their babies, and regular monitoring of their child’s growth and development. However, social media significantly influenced parenting, with 58.4% of respondents obtaining parenting information from social media, though not all sources were credible. Additionally, social and environmental factors, such as family support and healthcare facilities, played a crucial role in shaping parenting behaviors. This study concludes that Generation Z mothers tend toadopt modern parenting approaches based on digital information but still require education and family support to filter information wisely. Therefore, educational programs and training on digital literacy-based parenting are essential to enhance the quality of infant care in the digital era.
