A New and Two Known Species of the Genus Eudorylaimus Andrássy, 1959 (Dorylaimida: Qudsianematidae) from Iran

One new and two known species of the genus Eudorylaimus, were collected and identified from soil samples of agroecosystems in northwest and west of Iran. Eudorylaimus gonbarfi sp. nov. is characterised by its 1.10–1.52 mm long body, lip region offset, 11–13 µm broad, odontostyle 12.5–14.0 µm long, neck 264–333 µm long, pharyngeal expansion occupying 31–41% of total neck length, female genital system didelphic-amphidelphic, vulva longitudinal (V = 43–54%), caudal region conical, regularly curved ventrad and somewhat elongate with finely rounded terminus, spicules 41 µm long and 6 ventromedian supplements with a hiatus. Eudorylaimus arcus (Thorne and Swanger, 1936) Andrássy, 1959 is also reported as a new record from the country. Furthermore, Eudorylaimus azarbaijanicus Moslehi, Niknam and Ashrafi, 2012 which originally was reported from northwest of Iran is redescribed based on two more recently collected populations and new morphometrics, morphological and molecular data. Molecular analyses of the recovered populations using D2-D3 expansion regions of the 28S rDNA gene were carried out and their phylogenetic position discussed.
