Research Progress on Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in the Treatment of Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis
Objective: This paper reviews the latest progress in integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine for treating Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (HT), focusing on its effects and mechanisms in immune regulation and clinical application. Methods: A literature review was conducted to analyze the limitations of Western medicine in treating HT and the potential of Chinese medicine in immune regulation and inflammation control, exploring the benefits of combined therapy. Results: While hormone replacement therapy relieves symptoms, its impact on immune regulation is limited, and long-term use may cause side effects. Chinese medicine, through syndrome differentiation and immune modulation, effectively reduces antibody levels, alleviates thyroid inflammation, and improves patients’ quality of life. Conclusion: Integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine shows promising clinical efficacy, particularly in immune modulation and inflammation reduction. Future research should focus on large-scale clinical trials and personalized treatment plans to further confirm its effectiveness and safety.
