Sources of Pamfil Yurkevych’s Philosophical and Religious Concept of the Heart

The purpose of the study is to identify the features of philosophical and religious understanding of cognition in the concept Pamfil Yurkevych. An analysis of the primary sources containing his key ideas is conducted. The methodological basis of the study is the analytical and comparative methods used to review the conceptual provisions of Yurkevych and their correlation with theological traditions. The historical and philosophical method allowed tracing the influence of his ideas on the development of philosophy of the 19th-20th centuries, and the hermeneutical approach contributed to a deeper understanding of his works in the context of moral choice and spiritual knowledge. The study establishes that the philosophy of Yurkevych differs substantially from classical rationalistic concepts, which focus on logical analysis as the main way to comprehend the truth. It is determined that the key place in his concept was occupied by subjective experience and intuitive perception of reality, which brought him closer to non-classical trends such as existentialism, intuitionism, and phenomenology. Analysis of his concept in the context of Orthodox anthropology confirms that it contains elements of a mystical understanding of knowledge. The study shows that his teaching remains relevant to modern philosophical thought and has substantial potential for interdisciplinary research.
