QuantCrit Principles of Practice for Disrupting Racialized Injustices in Special Education
We believe in the urgency of anti-racist research approaches to expose and disrupt the pervasiveness of white supremacy in statistical approaches, especially within the field of Special Education. Therefore, we propose that extend QuantCrit to reimagine the use of advanced statistical applications. We apply these principles to special education research, specifically a national study of ECLS-K data and Delaware study of K–12 data, involving the segregation of students with disabilities and resegregation of Students of Color. Combined, these examples demonstrate how statistical approaches can be adapted for anti-racist inquiry when QuantCrit is applied. We conclude with implications.
