Preface

CITIES 2024 PREFACE CITIES International Conference is an annual international conference organized by the Urban and Regional Planning Department of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS Surabaya). The conference, which debuted in 2005, serves as a platform for academics and practitioners to present, disseminate, and discuss research results in the field of urban and regional planning. Through the efforts of all involved, CITIES has grown from a primarily national conference to one that attracts a diverse, worldwide audience from the Asian, European, Australian, and American continents. CITIES International Conference 2024 brings up the theme of "Integrated Land-Coastal Planning System: Navigating Sustainable Development in the Digital Intelligence Transformation Era," capturing the evolving challenges and opportunities that lie at the intersection of terrestrial and coastal planning in an urban or rural setting within a rapidly changing technological landscape. As we move deeper into the era of digital intelligence, the ways to approach sustainable development must adapt to new realities. The integration of land and coastal systems has become increasingly vital in addressing the growing pressures of urbanization, climate change, and technological transformation. The 2024 conference aims to explore how digital intelligence and innovative technologies can enhance planning strategies to ensure resilience, inclusivity, and sustainability in the management of land and coastal regions. This conference also serves as a platform for interdisciplinary exchange and cooperation, bringing together experts from academia, industry, and government to share research findings, innovative solutions, and policy recommendations. This year, the CITIES International Conference 2024 will be held on October 10-11, 2024. On October 10, CITIES keynote speeches were given by Prof. Azizan Marzuki (Universiti Sains Malaysia), Alberto Innocenti, Ph.D (University of Southern Denmark), and Prof. Adjie Pamungkas Ph.D (Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember). The keynote session will be followed by a parallel hybrid presentation session by all conference participants, divided into three offline and two online rooms. On the second day, the Indonesia Planner Association (IAP) East Java and ESRI Indonesia will hold a workshop for all conference participants. The committee closely monitored the event at the venue during these sessions. List of Sponsor and Partner Acknowledgements, Committees, Rundown and Reviewer are available in the PDF.
