Development of a Universal Experimental Bench for Physical Modeling of Induction-resistive Heating Systems

The article discusses the development and implementation of a universal experimental bench for physical modeling of various types of induction-resistive heating systems (IRHS). The application of IRHS is a promising solution for achieving more reliable and efficient transportation of liquid products in cold climates. By using the developed bench, it is possible to carry out comprehensive studies of the electrical and power performance characteristics of IRHS having different design configurations, including classical, multilayer, corrugated, and others. The article describes the bench design, which includes power supply and control systems, as well as a special balancing transformer for balancing a single-phase load. The conducted experiments have confirmed the bench functionality and its suitability for studying various modes of IRHS operation. The study results demonstrate the bench effectiveness in regard of improving the accuracy of mathematical models and speeding up the introduction of new IRHS types. Thus, the proposed technical solutions set up a basis for designing more reliable and efficient electric heating systems for industrial pipelines.
