Demyelinating Sarcoid Polyneuropathy With Reversible Conduction Block: A Case‐Report
ABSTRACT The pathomechanism of sarcoid polyneuropathy remains unknown though different hypotheses are discussed. A 57‐year‐old female patient presented with painful paresthesia and progressive weakness of the lower extremities. Intravenous immune globulin therapy for presumed chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) failed to control disease activity. Glucocorticoid pulse therapy was associated with rapid improvement of the neurological symptoms and resolved the conduction block, which indicates inflammatory processes involved in sarcoid polyneuropathy pathogenesis.
