A Brief Analysis of Camus’s Absurd Philosophy—Taking The Outsider as an Example

Camus is a famous thinker and writer in modern France. Based on existentialism, he developed the philosophy of “absurism”. This paper takes The Outsider as an example to analyze Camus’s philosophy of absurdity. He not only focuses on absurdity itself, but more importantly, on how to resist absurdity. “Absurdity” and “resistance” constitute the two major themes of Camus’s philosophy. By combing the research status of Camus, the paper explores the shortcomings of domestic research status and the lack of comparative studies of related philosophers. This paper will make a comparative analysis of the philosophies of Camus, Sartre and Nietzsche. Camus’s absurd philosophy is designed to help us enrich the spiritual world and find hope in the absurd world so as not to fall into nihilism, which has a strong humanistic color.
