Tibialis Anterior Tendon Transfer With Guide-assisted Transosseous Tunnel-suture Technique for Dynamic Supination Deformity of Foot

Background: Tibialis anterior tendon transfers are commonly performed surgical procedures for the correction of dynamic supination deformity of the foot. In this surgical note, we aimed to report our novel modification on tibialis anterior tendon transfer. Material and Methods: We present a novel surgical technique for managing dynamic supination deformity of the foot in pediatric patients with neurological disorders. This technique involves the transfer of the tibialis anterior utilizing anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) drill guide-assisted double exit bone tunnel to address dynamic supination deformity. Conclusion: In the treatment of pediatric dynamic supination deformity, the ACL guide-assisted transosseous technique for tibialis anterior transfer offers a safe and reproducible option in appropriate cases, minimizing the risk of iatrogenic injuries and eliminating the need for implants.
