SIGNIFICANCE OF APPARENT DIFFUSION CO-EFFICIENT AS A NON-INVASIVE BIOMARKER FOR THE GRADING OF RECTAL ADENO-CARCINOMA
Rectal adenocarcinoma poses a signicant clinical burden in India. MRI is the imaging modality of choice in staging of rectal carcinoma. This study aims to determine the reliability of ADC as a noninvasive biomarker to grade rectal carcinoma and determine its aggressiveness. In this retrospectiv Materials and Methods: e observational study, 80 biopsy-conrmed patients with rectal adenocarcinoma underwent DW-MRI. Correlation analyses, ANOVA, and ROC curve analyses were performed to evaluate the relationship and diagnostic accuracy ADC in predicting tumor grade. ADC exhibited a strong negative correlation (r=−0.958, p<0.001) with tumor grade. Mean ADC am Results: ong welldifferentiated tumor was 1.64, moderately differentiated was 1.26 and poorly differentiated was 0.83. ADC strongly Conclusion: correlated with tumor grade and provide valuable non-invasive insights into tumor biology and may serve as reliable tools for preoperative risk stratication and treatment planning
