Analysis of spatiotemporal changes and degradation in grassland net primary productivity in northern Xinjiang
Grasslands constitute 20% of Earth's land and 42% of China's, with Xinjiang ranking third in China. This study analyzed NPP dynamics in northern Xinjiang's grasslands (2001-2020), revealing an upward trend, higher in humid areas and lower in arid ones, with significant fluctuations in specific regions. Grassland degradation peaked in 2008. The study used advanced methods to examine grassland NPP dynamics and degradation, clarifying the impacts of climate and human activities.
