Improving the efficiency of selecting chart soundings automatically based on weighting triangles dynamically

For selecting the points scientifically from massive depth data, a method for improving the efficiency of selecting chart soundings automatically is proposed on a basis of weighting triangles dynamically. Firstly, the mathematical relation between the depth points and the triangles is designed and constructed for improving the efficiency of searching the depths. Secondly, the operator of weighting triangles is created and calculated quantitatively for optimizing the sequence of processing the triangles. Finally, the influencing area after one depth inserted into triangulated irregular net is updated dynamically for improving the efficiency of tin-based depth modeling. The experimental results demonstrated that: (1) the proposed method can make the selected depths meet the reliability requirement of ship navigational safety; (2) the proposed method can improve the efficiency of the depth automatic selection, of which the consumed time is decreased to 10% of the pre-constructed surface control method.
