DIREITO DOS PRESOS: (IN) EFICÁCIA DO PROCESSO DE RESSOCIALIZAÇÃO NO ESTADO DE RONDÔNIA
ABSTRACT This article analyzes the (in)effectiveness of the resocialization process in the prison system of the state of Rondônia, highlighting the limitations of public policies aimed at the reintegration of inmates. Although initiatives such as the Semear Project show progress, their scope remains insufficient compared to the state’s prison reality. The study investigates aspects such as prison overcrowding, the precariousness of public policies, and the challenges faced by former inmates. The research follows an exploratory and descriptive methodology, based on a literature review and statistical data analysis. The results indicate that, despite resocialization efforts, criminal recidivism and the social marginalization of ex-prisoners remain significant challenges. It is concluded that a strengthening of reintegration policies is necessary to ensure the effectiveness of resocialization in the state. Keywords: Resocialization; prison system; criminal recidivism; public policies; Rondônia.
