Management of maxillary central incisor with calcific metamorphosis: From perforation with static guidance to resolution with dynamic navigation
ABSTRACT Guided endodontics has advanced the field by enhancing accuracy and improving outcomes in complex clinical cases. Static guidance serves as a foundational technique, offering predictable access to calcified canals and improving procedural precision. However, its lack of real-time adaptability can pose challenges in intricate scenarios. This case report discusses the management of a calcified canal initially treated with static guidance, which resulted in a perforation. Dynamic navigation was subsequently employed, enabling precise canal location and successful treatment. The real-time feedback and superior accuracy provided by dynamic navigation minimized procedural invasiveness and effectively addressed complications caused by static guidance. This case emphasizes the complementary roles of static and dynamic navigation, showcasing how dynamic systems overcome static limitations by offering enhanced accuracy, reduced risks, and improved clinical outcomes, making them a valuable innovation in endodontic practice.
