PREFACE

This special issue of the <i>International Journal of Fluid Mechanics Research (FMR)</i> titled "Emerging Trends in Experimental Fluid Dynamics" comprises a selection of high-quality peer-reviewed papers presented at the International Conference on Advances in Aerospace and Energy Systems (IAES-2024). The conference was held during April 4-6, 2024, at the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC), Trivandrum, India, and witnessed an enthusiastic participation of over 650 registered delegates from academia, research organizations, and industry. IAES-2024 was jointly organized by the Regional Chapter of the Indian Society for Heat and Mass Transfer and LPSC. The conference featured 248 oral presentations across 40 technical sessions (organized in 5 parallel tracks) and 141 poster presentations in 3 dedicated sessions.
