Joint Optimization of Communication and Computing Resource in IRS-Assisted NOMA Mobile Edge Computing Systems

In the mobile edge computing system, mobile devices offload computing tasks to edge servers to provide low-latency computing services. However, traditional orthogonal multiple access methods have limited spectrum efficiency in multi-user communication, and when the mobile device is located at the edge of the cell or the communication link between the base station and the mobile device is blocked, the offloading delay increases sharply. In order to solve these problems, the intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) are applied to the mobile edge computing system, and a joint optimization scheme for communication and computing resources in IRS-assisted NOMA mobile edge computing system is proposed. This scheme jointly optimizes offloading ratio, resource allocation, user receive beamforming and IRS reflect beamforming to achieve latency minimization under resource and rate constraints. By decomposing the problem into computation and communication design modules and solving them iteratively, a high-quality stable solution is obtained. Simulation results show that this scheme effectively reduces latency while ensuring the transmission rate requirement.
