Improving Channel Capacity of VDE-SAT Downlink via Joint User Grouping with Fairness Consideration
In the VDES satellite's MIMO downlink communication system with multiple user terminals, the current main challenges include low channel capacity and unstable communication quality. To address these issues, user grouping algorithms, as a key strategy for resource allocation, are crucial for enhancing the performance of satellite communication systems. This paper will delve into the scenario of ship communication in the Yangtze River Estuary, exploring how to ensure that each ship fairly obtains service resources while effectively improving the average channel capacity. This paper proposes the genetic and gradient boosting tree based user grouping (G-GBTBUG) algorithm. Simulation results indicate that the G-GBTBUG algorithm demonstrates excellent performance in enhancing the average channel capacity. Additionally, the algorithm achieves efficient communication while reducing power consumption.
