A Constant-Power Bidirectional Double-Sided LCC Inductive Wireless Power Transfer Battery Charger with Triple-Phase-Shift Optimal Efficiency Control

This paper proposes a constant-power (CP) double-sided inductor-capacitor-capacitor (DS-LCC) bidirectional wireless power transfer battery charger. Specifically, this charger adopts a DS-LCC compensation network and an active rectifier on the secondary side without involving any DC-DC converter(s) or switch-controlled capacitor(s). On this basis, the triple-phase-shift (TPS) modulation method is introduced in the charger to enable all devices to achieve soft switching. In addition, a novel Constant Power Optimal Efficiency Control (CPOEC) strategy is proposed, which utilizes a lookup table obtained from the offline optimization method to ensure the charger can achieve constant output power and optimal efficiency simultaneously. The feasibility of the proposed CP charger has been verified through simulation, with an efficiency range of 90.67% to 92.41%, which is excellent among state-of-the-art CP wireless chargers.
