Incorporation of Optimal Energy Storage Systems and CCUS Project into Power Market Trading

To achieve carbon neutrality in integrated energy system (IES), installing energy storage systems (ESSs) and CO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technology are crucial. Establishing a future low-carbon electricity structure is gaining increasing attention. This paper first explored the potential of short-term and long-term energy storage through optimization method of minimum carbon emission, as well as the analysis feasibility of CCUS deployment. Based on the optimized energy structure, different power generation types will participate in the electricity market trading, modified Shapley value method are proposed to enhance to increase the profits of renewable energy and low-carbon power generation. Finally, taking Inner Mongolia, China as a case study, exploring the benefits and carbon emission of the optimized energy structure participated in the electricity trading market. According to the case analysis, taking the 2030 low-carbon plan as an example, the optimized ESSs can reduce carbon emissions about 15%, although it may experience short-term losses. The CCUS deployment in thermal power generation can accelerate carbon reduction more effectively. The improved profit allocation method effectively promotes the profitability of renewable energy and low-carbon power generation in the electricity market, increasing solar, wind, and CCUS profits by 3%, 5%, and 2%, respectively.
