Applying the Vision Transformer Algorithm to Diagnose the Stages of Alzheimer's Disease

Alzheimer's disease is a leading cause of dementia. It causes memory loss and cognitive dysfunction, significantly affecting patients' quality of life and work. Clinical symptoms of dementia vary greatly depending on the stage of the disease. Alzheimer's disease is becoming more common, worsening over time, and eventually leading to death. Early detection is crucial for effective treatment. This paper introduces the Vision Transformer model, which uses fewer parameters and achieves high accuracy on large datasets, to diagnose Alzheimer's disease stages. The application of Vision Transformer in medical diagnosis has shown superior results compared to traditional models, achieving up to 98% accuracy on Alzheimer's MRI data.
